The last Transnational Partner Meeting of WOODCircle has concluded with outstanding results in Budapest.

On 29-30 April 2024, the third and last transnational partner meeting of the WOODCircle Erasmus+ project took place in Budapest, hosted by the Hungarian Furniture and Woodworking Association - Fabunio.

The project, which introduces woodworker students, workers and those interested in the sector to the circular economy in the wood and furniture industry, is unique in several respects: it provides a highly current knowledge base through a flexible, complex course, which can be used not only as a direct training course but also as an educational materials for teachers. In addition, the partnership has previously developed a digital transition training course with the same structure, called WOODigital, so the two course together offer the perfect opportunity to learn the skills needed for the twin transition quickly and efficiently.

Coming back to the Budapest event, the meeting was of particular importance for the progress of the project, as WOODCircle has reached its final, most active phase, with several key activities taking place in close succession or in parallel. The six project partners spent a very productive two days clarifying the remaining tasks and the steps to be taken to achieve them:

- After a pilot period of the online learning platform until 31 May - during which a total of 125 people (minimum 25 per country) will have to test the online platform - the partnership will finalise the course on the basis of the feedback received.

- At the same time, in Hungary, 4 young people aged 18-35 per country will participate in a one-week mobility programme organised by Fabunio, which will provide a hands-on experience of the curriculum and live best practices to show how companies of different sizes and approaches in different segments of the sector are facing the opportunities and challenges of the transition to a circular economy and how they are achieving regional and international success by integrating sustainable thinking.

- Another priority for the final phase of the project is to disseminate the online course to a wider professional audience and to organise a project launch event per country, which was also discussed by the partnership during the meeting.
